Numerical Simulation and Experimental Study of a Multistage Multiphase Separation System

Nowadays, most oilfields have entered the high water cut stage of waterflood development. The importance oil–water separation technology becomes more obvious. Gravity is one commonly used treatment techniques for produced fluid. gravitational separator has a large processing capacity and wide application range, but its structure relatively simple efficiency gradually falls behind to meet current production needs. key difficulties improve are analyze flow field coalescing components inside separator. Aiming at these difficulties, this paper reports an innovatively designed series-parallel multistage multiphase system (MMSS). A horizontal connected in series with vertical separator, consists five discrete pipes parallel. Different then set effect MMSS studied by numerical simulation laboratory experiments. oil phase volume distribution cloud diagrams analyzed simulation, including semicircle baffle, spiral track plate, four-hole plate seven-hole plate. Laboratory experiments show that efficiency, content outlet 3.0% less than By observing shape droplets measuring sampling outlet, four coalescent plates obtained. According statistics, when volumetric inlet 1.5 m3/h, average particle size drops blank pipe, semicircular increases turn. continuous layer appears fully open state. baffle component always level under different rates.
